I’m staring out into starry night It’s been too long since the last I always thought that to find the light I had to let go of the past Cause when I think back to former times I just see my mistakes Relationships that I did unwind Endless not-so clean breaks I lost my rhythm, tossed out what I was given In a bid to change what’s me But the boy that’s hidden by the man who overrid him Holds the other half of the key Maybe my salvation ain’t just elimination Of the who I used to be To leave this station for self-actualization I gotta set my old self free But when I look back at those mistakes It’s not the whole story I was a fool to so soon forsake All of what I used to be It’s far too easy in retrospect To focus in on the bad It’s taken too long to introspect On all the good that I had I lost my rhythm, tossed out what I was given In a bid to change what’s me But the boy that’s hidden by the man who overrid him Holds the other half of the key Maybe my salvation ain’t just elimination Of the who I used to be To leave this station for self-actualization I gotta set my old self free

A human race all looking for their fix A great machine that’s farming all their clicks The content kings cashing out pain for kicks A bottomless corporate bag of tricks An algorithm pushing what’s appalling An age of viral strangers and name-calling All screaming that the sky out there is falling But it’s just another day. It seems that everybody now is stuck complaining The outrage is forever self-sustaining It’s alternately sick and entertaining Yeah it’s just another day Depression spiraling out of control Seven billion problems start to take a toll So grab the latest meme and bait out all the trolls Ratio a clown to make your spirit whole An algorithm pushing what’s appalling An age of viral strangers and name-calling All screaming that the sky out there is falling But it’s just another day. It seems that everybody now is stuck complaining The outrage is forever self-sustaining It’s alternately sick and entertaining Yeah it’s just another day

This dream is nothing what it seems It is nothing what it seems It’s only just a dream Obscene pictures on a screen It's nothing what it seems Only just a dream So keep on sleeping By me Even if it’s all a dream If even it’s not what it seems It’s everything to me The cut is never clean The other grass ain’t green Though it’s only just a dream It’s everything to me So keep on sleeping This dream It may not be what it seems But even if you’re just a dream You’re everything to me You’re everything to me So keep on sleeping

There’s a sign out in the yard saying stay the hell away. All who wander may be shot if they come on the wrong day. No solicitors, inquirers or lovers welcomed here. If you value what you’ve got, you best keep far away from here. There’s a dog tied to the tree that’s been waiting for a chance. He’s been counting down the days til it’s finally time to dance. If you think you’ve got a shot and you somehow make it through That angry fed up mutt’s got nothing on what I will do to you. You’re playing with the fire now You better run away You’re playing with the fire now There will be no escape If the demon comes to burn it down To burn it all away I’ll burn it all away There’s a switch that mutes the heart, pumping rage into the head. And the moment that it flips all these eyes will see is red. Every inch of earth is scorched, every foot of bridge is burned Until it’s absolutely certain that your lesson will be learned. There’s a sign out in the yard saying stay the hell away. All who wander may be shot if they come on the wrong day. No solicitors, inquirers or lovers welcomed here. If you value what you’ve got you best keep far away from here. You’re playing with the fire now You better run away You’re playing with the fire now There will be no escape If the demon comes to burn it down To burn it all away I’ll burn it all away

It’s a stagnant point of view It’s a cultural milieu It’s a phase we’re going through A dying way of life we’re clinging to It’s a profound certainty Of the way all things should be A myopic clarity Without regard for our own history This paradigm is in transition And time will win the war of attrition Uproot your vision of reality Don’t seek the puck, seek where the puck will be. It’s a stagnant point of view Arguments of 1s and 2s In a system built to lose A system that today we’d all recuse Shed all of your certainty If there’s a way that things should be It isn’t part of what we see Your art should not be tied to currency This paradigm is in transition And time will win the war of attrition Uproot your vision of reality Don’t seek the puck, seek where the puck will be.

I think there’s something in the air Between the ceiling and this chair Because I just can’t shake this feeling Don’t wanna shake this feeling I’m feeling ok. I used to feel like not enough My self-critiques were far too tough But none of that stuff is true, man It's just called being human I’m feeling ok. I’m used to feeling kinda mad Dwelling on bad days that I’ve had But now I’m ok. I wouldn’t say I’m feeling great But more than good enough today is feeling ok. I'm feeling ok. I had a narrow point of view Always obsessing with what’s true But the "Truth" is an illusion And being right is an intrusion On being ok. There’s so much dissonance around But I am drowning out the sound With the song inside my brain With the music that keeps me sane And feeling ok. I’m used to feeling kinda mad Dwelling on bad days that I’ve had But now I’m ok. And if some days I’m not ok. I’ll find a melody to play Until I’m ok. I'm feeling ok. I'm ok.

about

After a six year hiatus from writing music and a 10 year hiatus from personally recording anything other than a couple acoustic demos in 2017, I randomly wrote a bunch of songs in January 2024. This EP contains six of them.

The first four tracks are the "proper EP" and were recorded more elaborately over the last couple days. The final two tracks are acoustic demos... let's call them bonus tracks ;-)... from January that seemed more suited in their original format than being re-recorded electric.

If by happenstance you stumbled across this old abandoned page, Hello!
I hope you hear something you like.
